COLUMBUS, Ohio-Columbus City Schools (CCS) has informed the parents of over 4,000 students attending charter, private, parochial, and other non-public schools within the district that transporting their children is impractical. This decision is based on factors like distance and bus travel time. The district plans to officially declare the transportation impractical. Some parents have reported severe consequences, such as losing their jobs, due to the lack of transportation. In response, board member Brandon Simmons suggested that affected parents consider enrolling their children in CCS schools, arguing that CCS offers a viable alternative with better-trained staff and facilities.
