CANTON, Ohio-A Canton preschool, located at the Early Learning Center in Schreiber School on Woodland Ave. NW, was placed under lockdown due to reports of a potential weapon on school grounds. School officials promptly contacted Canton police and their district security team.
The lockdown was lifted at 11:15 a.m. once police confirmed the suspect had left the area. As a precaution, classes were canceled for the rest of the day, and students were picked up by their parents or guardians. Additional security personnel remained on-site to ensure the safety of staff and students. Canton City Schools expressed gratitude to all involved for their swift response in ensuring the safety and security of the school community.
