SALEM, Ohio-Brad Smith, a Salem resident, initiated a fundraiser called “Hike for Finn” in memory of his 8-month-old son, Finn, who tragically passed away in a car accident almost a year ago. Brad, who survived the accident but was injured, was inspired to revisit the challenging 70-mile Laurel Heights Trail after recovering, aiming to complete it in 24 hours instead of his previous 28-hour trek.
The fundraiser aims to support Lifebanc, an organization that facilitated the donation of Finn’s organs, saving another life. Despite the emotional difficulty of approaching the anniversary of Finn’s passing, Brad is determined to honor his son’s memory by living life to the fullest and exploring ways to preserve Finn’s legacy.
