AKRON, Ohio-Despite the scouting recommendation to play a zone defense against University’s lacrosse team, the strategy proved ineffective as University, led by Julian Guirguis’s dominant face-off skills, cruised to a 19-3 victory over Kenston in the Division II regional semifinal.
University’s fast-paced offense overwhelmed Kenston, securing their spot in the regional championship game against either Chagrin Falls or Akron Hoban. Coach Hans Rydquist noted that opponents often opt for a zone defense to slow them down, but University remained prepared and confident in their abilities.
