Perrysburg School Leaders Make Case for Limiting Housing Developments

< 1 min read

PERRYSBURG, Ohio-A member of the Perrysburg Board of Education has suggested that if the city council can ban new car washes, they should also consider measures to control housing developments that are straining the school district. This suggestion was made during a meeting between school officials and the city’s planning and zoning committee. The school district is facing financial challenges due to rapid enrollment growth, despite its high ranking and excellent reputation.

Developers have proposed projects with potentially misleading financial benefits for the school district, prompting concerns about their impact on school resources. The presentation also highlighted the complex issue of school funding and the strain placed on resources by multifamily developments. City council members expressed gratitude for the presentation but acknowledged the challenges in balancing growth with the needs of the school district and community services.
