Dan Black Hired as new Principal for BG High School

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio-Dan Black, currently serving as the assistant principal at Bowling Green High School, has been appointed as the new principal, succeeding Jeff Dever upon his retirement. The decision was met with unanimous approval from the Bowling Green Board of Education. Black, who has been with the district for several years, is praised for his depth of knowledge and readiness for the role.

Superintendent Francis Scruci highlighted Black’s preparedness and his comprehensive plan for leading the school, especially in navigating challenges such as the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Black’s background includes teaching at the middle school level before transitioning to administration. His appointment reflects the district’s commitment to continuity and maintaining stability amidst significant personnel changes due to retirements, including the departure of Jeff Dever and Melanie Garbig, who collectively represent decades of experience in the district.
