CLARK TOWNSHIP, Ohio-A 12-year-old boy was accidentally shot near Township Road 154, according to Holmes County Sheriff Tim Zimmerly. Initial investigations suggest that the boy was transporting a rifle on a four-wheeler in a farm field when the gun fell off, hitting the ground and firing. The victim sustained a single wound as the round entered his chest and exited through his shoulder.
He remained conscious and alert after the incident. East Holmes Fire & EMS transported him to a nearby landing zone, where he was then transferred to Akron Children’s Hospital by Metro Life Flight Helicopter. The shooting was reported around 4:43 p.m., and the victim’s condition was unknown as of Wednesday morning.
