NEW FRANKLIN, Ohio-The New Franklin Fire Department confirmed that a child reported missing at Portage Lakes State Park on Friday was found in about four feet of water. Despite efforts from firefighters and volunteers, who initially believed the child was not in the water, the child was pronounced dead at the hospital after resuscitation attempts failed. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is investigating the drowning.
