‘It’s Surreal atTtimes’: 23-Year-Old Leading Lakota High School Football Program

KANSAS, Ohio-Ryan Lozier, at 22, is the new head coach of the Lakota High School football team, having taken over in February after serving as the offensive coordinator. A former quarterback for the Clyde Fliers, who won a state championship in 2019, Lozier is praised for his leadership despite his youth. He finds the role overwhelming at times but appreciates the strong support system around him, including his father and defensive coordinator. Lozier’s players respect him for his relatable approach, and his coaching staff values his openness to ideas. Despite a challenging start with a 45-13 loss followed by a 35-0 win, Lozier is focused on improving the program and aiming for league titles and playoff success.
