WARREN, Ohio-A Warren mother, Melissa Jones, is advocating for justice for her 13-year-old son, Salvatore Giaimo, who was hit by a car while walking to school last Thursday. The incident occurred at the intersection of Hazelwood Avenue and Milton Street, resulting in multiple fractures for Salvatore. Jones expressed her anger, questioning why the driver didn’t stop, emphasizing that her son is her “pride and joy.” Salvatore recounted how he looked for oncoming traffic before stepping off the road, only to be struck by a white SUV that ran a stop sign and left the scene. He feels the driver should recognize the danger of their actions, while his mother demands accountability, wondering if the driver lacked insurance or a license. Jones insists that the driver should have checked on her son after the accident, stating, “My baby is hurt. He deserves justice.”
