Children’s Hunger Alliance Sponsoring Free, Reduced Meals Across Ohio

DAYTON, Ohio-In the Miami Valley, several at-risk afterschool programs and childcare centers are offering free and reduced meals to address childhood hunger, sponsored by the Children’s Hunger Alliance (CHA) through the USDA’s Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). This program serves over 4.2 million children and 138,000 adults daily nationwide. Participating local sites include various Dayton Metro Library branches, the Lohrey Recreation Center, Dayton Leadership Academy, and Silverton Paideia Academy. In 2024 alone, CHA has provided 8 million meals at 1,600 sites across 76 counties.
