REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio-Voters in Reynoldsburg rejected a 6.65 mill emergency levy proposed by the district to address budget deficits. The levy aimed to offset increased spending on bus fuel, utilities, and staff salaries, exacerbated by the expiration of ESSER federal funds. This was the first operating levy the district had proposed since 2010, with an expected cost of $233 annually per $100,000 of property value. The proposal failed with 54.7% voting “no” and 45.3% voting “yes.” Superintendent Dr. Tracy Reed assured the community that the district would seek alternative funding solutions and ensure the continuation of educational programs. No immediate decisions will be made without Board of Education approval.
