New bill in Ohio would make it easier to adopt a child

It’s been nearly 30 years since Ohio’s adoption procedures underwent a major overhaul, resulting in slower adoptions for the more than 3,000 children currently in foster care. However, adopting a child in Ohio will become easier with the introduction of House Bill 5. The bill is sponsored by Rep. Sharon Ray, R-Wadsworth, who is adopted, and Rep. Rachel Baker, D-Cincinnati, who has three adopted children.
