Parma Schools reevaluating communication after threat at Greenbriar Middle School

An incident last week involving Greenbriar Middle School has led Parma City Schools to reevaluate its parental communication protocol.

Superintendent Charles Smialek said it all began when the district received a threatening email Feb. 6 when the schools were closed due to weather.

The district sent an early morning email the next day — not a phone call message — after Parma police investigated and determined that the threat wasn’t valid.
