Beneath a cloudless sky, Columbus City Schools (CCS) students sprinted across the outfield at Huntington Park. Students filled each hour with laughter, learning, and experiences like no other. The bases were loaded, and the lessons came with every pitch. It was more than kickball; it was a home run in hands-on learning for students. “[At Summer Experience] we’re reteaching, but we’re also doing it in a fun project-based way,” said Beth Wood, math teacher for Summer Experience. “We can relax, really meet the kids where they are [to] help them become the people they should be.”
