For many children, and parents, trying to get back into that school year routine can be a challenge. Teri Kinsway, with the college of social work at the Ohio State University, said there are ways you can help set your children up for success when returning to school. Kinsway said it’s important to get children back into a routine at least a week before school starts. The more preparation families can do, the better. This includes back-to-school shopping to get school supplies and new outfits. She said that having everything your child would need to have a successful day ready to go will be beneficial.
