WEST UNION, Ohio-The family of the late Aaron Irwin has awarded four students from the West Union High School Performing Arts Department with the Aaron Irwin Memorial Scholarship for 2024. Recipients include Makinlee Stevenson, Landen Kouns, Matthew Griffis, and Brandt Seaman. Makinlee plans to study Commercial Music at Belmont University, Landen plans to pursue Electrical Engineering at Central Ohio Technical College, Matthew aims to major in Music Production at Ohio University, and Brandt intends to study Chemical Engineering, also at Ohio University.
The scholarship honors Aaron Irwin, a long-time resident of West Union known for his Southern Gospel/Bluegrass performances. Aaron’s spouse and son presented the scholarship plaque to the students at the recent West Union Performing Arts Department banquet.
