CLEVELAND, Ohio-The University Hospitals Health Scholars Program, spanning from 8th to 12th grade, will see its inaugural class graduate this summer. This four-week paid internship aims to support underrepresented minority students in medicine by providing guidance in college applications, career development, and academic success.
Partnering with UH clinicians, the program integrates problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and social-emotional learning while addressing health disparities and linking health concepts to school science courses. UH aims to cultivate a diverse healthcare workforce to serve Cleveland, emphasizing better patient care and community health outcomes.
