Superintendent Urges Money-Saving Change Ahead of CPS Restructuring Vote

< 1 min read

CINCINNATI, Ohio-During a special Cincinnati Public Schools board meeting, board member Kendra Mapp announced her strong disapproval of a proposal to overhaul the district. Mapp expressed concerns about the process and the plan’s implementation, stating she would not vote on the proposals. Her announcement followed a contentious public comment session, where community members from schools like Clark Montessori and Hayes-Porter School urged the board to reject Superintendent Shauna Murphy’s plan. The plan includes consolidating schools like Hayes-Porter with Rothenberg to address enrollment issues, but many in the crowd were upset, particularly when finances were highlighted as a key factor in the decision.
