Ruth Miller has been deemed competent to stand trial for the murder of her 4-year-old son in Tuscarawas County, court officials confirmed Wednesday. Judge Michael Ernest denied Miller’s motion to have her sanity evaluation excluded, a member of Ernest’s staff told 3News. The trial has been set for March 4, 2026, at which time a jury will begin hearing the case against Miller for aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault, endangering children, and domestic violence.
