The criminal case against Gary Siders Sr., the grandfather of 16 children rescued from a home in Vinton County, Ohio, has been dismissed after a court found him incompetent to stand trial. Siders, 73, had faced 16 counts of child endangerment following the children’s rescue from a Hamden home in June. Court records show that he was found incompetent to stand trial last month and was considered unlikely to regain the mental capacity required to participate in legal proceedings.
