How an Ohio Group is Bringing God Back to Public School

March 26th,2024-WHITEHALL, Ohio-LifeWise Academy, a nonprofit in Ohio, conducts off-campus religious instruction during school hours for public school students. Students wear matching T-shirts and board a bus to attend sessions at a nearby church where they pray, read the Bible, and sing worship songs for about 30 minutes. The program operates under little-known Supreme Court rulings allowing such activities. Initially serving 25 schools by 2025, LifeWise has exceeded expectations, operating in over 300 schools across 12 states, teaching 35,000 students weekly. It has garnered support from both conservatives and progressives amidst cultural debates over LGBTQ inclusion, library books, and racism.
