BG School Board Approves new Contract for Teachers, Amends Superintendent’s Contract, & Brings Back Financial Consultant for Six More Months

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio-The Bowling Green Board of Education approved a two-year contract for district teachers, offering a 3 percent average increase each year, acknowledging their performance during the disruptions caused by COVID-19. Union president Jeff Nichols emphasized the collaborative effort to recruit and retain quality teachers.

Additionally, Superintendent Francis Scruci received lump sum merit payments of 3 percent of his salary for the past two years, along with an amendment to his contract for additional severance pay. The board also renewed its consulting contract with Rockmill Financial Consultants for six months at a cost of $20,000, acknowledging the value of David Conley’s financial advice to the district over the past four years. The board approved Michel Bechstein as the new principal of Kenwood Elementary, noting his ties to the school and his current role as middle school assistant principal.
