CONNEAUT, Ohio-The Conneaut Police Department has confirmed the recovery of the body of a missing boy in Lake Erie. The boy, identified as Hunter, was taken to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office for examination. The department expressed condolences to Hunter’s family and urged the community to keep them in their thoughts and prayers.
Hunter went missing at Conneaut Township Park on Friday afternoon, with search efforts transitioning to a recovery operation by Friday evening. Unsafe conditions hindered search operations over the weekend. While the boy’s full name has not been released, Springfield Local Schools Superintendent Shelley Monachino issued a statement to families enrolled in the district.
